Honestly,

What the heck is this bureaucratic garbage supposed to do for us? I thought it was a requirement to be proficient when we received our ratings? And since when do we have to "scramble to meet this requirement" when it is the fault of the FAA, not us.

I heard the boys at NWA had the guts to stand up to the FAA and postpone this silly nonsense for another year or so.

JEEEEZ!!!

Its just a requirement to put us in compliance with ICAO. Anyone who flies outside of the U.S. should appreciate this worlwide requirement. For those flying for foreign carriers, we saw this thing come down the tubes about a year ago, and no matter how many FAA licenses you had in your pocket, you had to go get tested on your "engrish profishery"!

Some people actually had to study for years to learn a second language, and understand the aero-babble we spread throughout the globe, just to enjoy the gravy-train lifestyle of aviation that we take for granted. Yet we complain about a 2 minute online form and 2 dollar charge.

This is just tongue-in-cheek humor, but it is factual.

Okay, I'm ready: Flame on!

This was imposed on the FAA by ICAO. Other countries complained to ICAO that it was discriminatory that they had to have "english proficient" on their tickets while we didn't. So ICAO flexed its muscle, and the FAA flexed back and got it pushed back a year, mainly because they are flooded with orders for new certificates.
