Questions about Airnet
Hey I don't know much about Airnet, but I was wondering if they put new hires in the lear. I have 1100 total time and about 850 multi turbine 121 time.
Thanks |
I just applied there and when I talked to them, they always put people in the props first. I have about 2300 total and 900 turbine 121 and I was told that if you have the 135 mins which are i think 1200 you go right to pic in the props. If you have less than 1200 then you go through the sic program until you have enough time to be a prop pic. Again, I don't work there! This is just what I was told when I talked to the recruiter on the phone. Hope this helps a little. Could anyone from the company shed some light here!!!

I dont know much about 135, but I think you have to have your ATP dont you, im only 20 so that would be a problem for me. Im pretty close on the time though.

far 135.243c you can be pic w/o an atp under ifr if you have 1200 total, 500xc, 75 ifr,

Im flying the Beech 1900D right now and I have about 850 in that. They are letting guys with about 200-300 hours in the beech up grade where im at and its 121. If I had the age and 1500 total time I could upgrade where im at. We fly in and out of the same little airports they do and in the same weather.

You are missing the point. You need 1200TT to be PIC at Airnet. You said you don't have that. |
ok I have 1150 last time i updated my logbook and that was about a week ago so pretty close and I really haven't even really thought about applying yet. I have an interview with republic and if i don't get that then im going to try a cargo company.

It seems that because their LR is configured for cargo (less than 10 pax seats), and the operation is unscheduled (not commuter) you could potentially escape the PIC ATP requirements of FAR 135.243(a)(1). Under 135.245(a), an ATP is not required to be a SIC, nor are there any minimum time requirements for a SIC beyond the hours necessary to get your Commercial. You don't need a type rating to be a SIC either, unless you leave the country. Before you get your hopes up, though, this from the FAQs at http://www.airnet.com/Careers/careersFrame.htm:
Q: Does AirNet Express hire pilots with jet experience directly into the jets? Not at this time. We strive to upgrade our current line pilots into the jets whenever practical/possible. |
