Default FDX Training pay question

Can someone confirm if the company dropped a 31hr trip due to a conflict for recurrent training how much pay does one get? Keep in mind training includes two day commute from LAX-MEM. Checked with the contract and I seemed to read that I would get paid for the trip, but somehow that does not sound right. Thanks in advance.

-------------

Checked the CBA and my posted answer appears to be wrong.

You don't get paid for the trip unless you make it up. If this training event is for May. Go into the Bid Line Processing Menu and try for some of the open trips. If you don't, all you get is the training pay, and you don't even get that til next month.

Kronan is correct, but you will be paid 4:30 per day, since you are now training on a day off. There are still a few ways to have trips dropped with pay for training, but you pretty much need to be in a Min Days Off protection scenario to get into that and only drop the number of days equal to your training. In your case I am sure that you have many more days off now including training than MIN.

When you go into the view/add it will tell you the number of hours eligible for CIC make up. Hope this helps.

PS, the 4:30 per day will be paid no matter what you do in the view/add. Even if you pick up 31 hours of trips it will be paid because you are still training on a day off.

Go and cherry pick some trips to make-up, window closes Friday morning. If you negative coded the 31 hr trip, they shouldn't have put the training classes in conflict with your trip (in theory).

Not positive but I believe you are not getting paid 4+30 for training on a day off but TAFB rig since you are on a "trip" that includes training.

Some LA guys could confirm...

Zippo pay protection if you bid a training period in conflict with a trip, it gets treated as a phase in conflict and you have the "opportunity" to make up the hours dropped from your line during the View/Add window.

Never been in your exact situation, but, assuming it's treated the same way as training away from your base contract looks like you should get a travel day to/from at 4.5 per day....so you've effectively traded a 31 hour trip for 18 hours of training pay. And if training pays the same way for you guys now, you won't get credit for it until the following bid month.

It's nice to be able to "bid" (and get) the exact training time I want, but, I sure do miss the old contract's pay protection for conflicts.

Personally, I bid my traing around my existing schedule and then drop the crap trip to level out the work days.

If I had done this in April, would make my April pay summary "look" like it was 9ish hours short. Net effect is my May 15th paycheck would "recoup" the 9 hours I didn't work in April, then add in the training pay for essentially no impact on the paycheck.

One exception, 25.C.11.d.iii.b, Have to be in your Grace month, unable to get a training slot IAW your seniority, and get scheduled into "known absence (e.g., vacation period, leave of absence, carry-out activities)" fall back looks like the old contract rules to me.
