My IPA planner says April 21 ... FWIW

 

22 capt. positions in ANC on the 400 for those who want to know. Unless you are on UPS property, you can't read it. Some sort of computer issue.

 

If you want a copy of the posting, go into the File Uploads section of the IPA newsgroups. It was uploaded there.

 

I'm sure those slots will go waaaay junior. Like around 100 or so on the big list.

 

Just out of curiousity, are these original or recurring vacancies? Or is this another displacement bid?

General Information

Vacancy Bid 08-102 opens on April 21, 2008 and will close on May 5, 2008 at 10:00 (SDF).

This bid will continue to add captain positions to the 747-400 for all remaining aircraft deliveries this year. The final realignment displacement bid to park the remaining 747 classic aircraft is still scheduled to open this June. This June bid will also add first officer positions to the 747-400 and possibly include vacancies to account for attrition.

Training will start as early as May 2008. Training will be bid in accordance with article 10.C.1.h. of the Agreement. Training date bidding is planned to open May 6, 2008.

Bypass: It is our intent to bypass only the six crewmembers whose 64th birthday is prior to March 31, 2008. We plan to train all other crewmembers that are awarded a position in the bid.

Again, we do not intend to bypass crewmembers whose 64th birthday is after March 31, 2008.
