Fred Smith - looking for Cheney's job?
I know APC does not allow politics but since this story has FedEx founder in it I thought I'd give it a try...
Is it possible that Fred Smith is going to be McCain's choice for VP?

McCain is inviting friends and supporters to Arizona this weekend.
(CNN) — Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain will meet this weekend with two governors and a former primary rival long rumored to be on his vice presidential shortlist, CNN confirms – though senior advisers insist the visit is just a social one.
The news that Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will visit McCain at his home in Arizona was first reported by the New York Times Wednesday.
Campaign advisers downplayed the visits, telling CNN’s Gloria Borger that the McCains were hosting 18-20 supporters as a way to show thanks for their help during the campaign.
Other guests, according to one adviser, include Kansas Senator and former Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback and his wife, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman and her husband, FedEx founder Fred Smith and his wife, and senor adviser Charlie Black and his wife.
"I know you all want it to be about the vice presidential process but that is not what it is about," Black told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King. "This is a social weekend as the Senator and [his wife] Cindy very much enjoy having when they can get a break from campaigning… There are nine couples coming for the weekend and those three happen to be among them.”

I can't imagine fighting a war with teamsters as our troops!! For that matter, I can only imagine what the IPA would be asking for--JA rates, B-plan contributions etc... Maybe the motivation could be that we get to keep your 777s when we win the war.
