Overstaffed at FEDEX,Yeah Right
 

I am a Junior Captain in ANC and a trip came up in open time.In order for me to get it I had to Drop some R days.Guess What it came back as.Disapproved, insufficient reserves.The union really needs to look at this.

Tried to move one r-day here at LAX, not drop, move from a day with 6 max open time to a day with 7 max open time(I know, max open time doesn't mean s#!t) with no trips in open time, got the disapproved, insufficient reserves each time(6 tries). Called the scheduler, actually was helpful, said they are using some type of algerithm(sp?) to figure out historical sick usage, dropped trips, ect,to figure the actual amount of reserves they need, and that the computer spits out approved or disapproved for each request. I asked if he could move it for me, or override the computer, he said not without his supervisors approval, I gave up at this point, and said "thanks", hung up, and proceded to bang my head on my desk:mad:

I've had reasonable luck moving and dropping R days in MEM. I've even called the scheduler and tried using "common sense" with some success (i.e. I'm trying to move the R day to a day with more trips in open time) and had them approve it?

You must mean more arpt stby periods, because there aren't any trips in open time. :)
