Need more info on excess training timeline!

I am one of the many guys getting bumped from the MEM MD11 and have a tough decision to make now about whether to go to ANC MD11, MEM Airbus or MEM 757.
So...

1. If I am awarded ANC MD11, could they send me immediately? Are they going to send us all at once or as the ANC guys get training slots?
2. When are the training dates for the MEM Bus and 757. Training letter is still grayed out, and need this information to make a decision.

I want to stay in the MD 11 if possible but, if they send me to ANC immediately when I could have been based in MEM for the year or more it takes to send me to training then I would want to do that. Any ideas? The thought of another training cycle is dreadful after 3 in 3 years.

Assuming you're going from MD-11 F/O Memphis to MD-11 F/O Anchorage, what training do you envision?

They have to teach you how to skin those baby seals, play golf in the dark and snow, and sleep with the sun in your eyes.

I assume training the guys back to the Boeing in MEM to open a slot up there...

Read Section 6 on the relocation packages available to you if you get excessed or bid to relieve excess to a different Domicile. It will be eye opening!

Brief Synopsis:

-Real Estate Commissions paid
-Closing Costs paid
-The various Title fees and whatnot
-Airplane tickets to your new domicile for house search
-16500 lbs and two cars moved (to ANC)
-House purchased if it doesn't sell within 4 months of activation date Price = Average of 2 appraisals

Might be worth a gander if you're looking at a downgrade vs. excess to another domicile in your same seat.

JJ -- Why are you pulling this guy's chain? It is so obvious that he meant the training required to change seats to stay in domicile vs. staying in his seat but moving. That only leaves the conclusion that you are being an agitator to someone who clearly has a difficult decision to make. Only you can explain, but I guess we will have to wait for you to finish kicking a cat to tell us why.

Sooo, ANC guys going to MEM, MEM guys going to ANC, LAX guys going to MEM....NOW FDX has to buy houses? In this market? Can someone tell me how on earth is this going to work?

Again the shear magnitude of the increase of commuters to ANC is physically impossible.

The only training I see is on the Bus...for HKG...assuming HKG gets filled.

FYI only. When I bid from ANC to MEM in the same seat approx. 30 days after the bid closed they swapped most of the guys just changing domiciles and not seats all at once.

You never know.

It all looks really good on paper. The Guy that runs the Relocation Department will make you life hell.
