SS...

Thanks for the ride...we do appreciate it...

And since you have so little money, not to mention self esteem, I'll try and bring an extra cookie.

I really do love the flying, but sorry at this point in my life it is just a job, and yes it pays the bills. But we are at the "top" only because the rest of the industry is in a race to the bottom. So I will not apologize for the good fortune that I have worked 20+ years to attain...but I will try and be more humble...

Actually as an outsider, it just drives me bonkers when FedEx pilots come ride my jumpseat. Occasionally I will have on board a really really nice guy who loves flying because it's his passion, lots of fun to visit with. But unfortunately, 90% of the FDX jumpseats contantly go on and on and on about how much money they make. It just gets so annoying.

I'm from a very small country town. To be making anything over 30,000 dollars is something that blows me and my family away. Everytime I open my paycheck now, I just can't believe I get paid to fly. But these jerks over at FDX, are just no fun to be around. Everytime I ask them about what's the most fun part about working there, they directly bring up the money. Then when I say, "tell me about the flying, hows the flying?" The usually answer is, "oh yeah we've got this one trip, where you can get extra pay on it...." How annoying.

A few years ago, right after FDX signed a new contract, I asked the jumpseater if he was glad the negotiations were over. He said, "yes, but what a joke, a 10% raise? I can't even buy a new car with a 10% raise."

My 1st year first officer said "I can't even buy a car...period!" That shut him up real fast.

It's so damn annoying to hear, "over at big purple" or "I work for this little airline, called FedEx" .... most of the guys hired there that think they are God's gift to aviation now, we're rejected from most all airlines 15-20 years ago.

Fifteen posts in your first three days on APC, and you decide to go trolling......

Congrats straightshooter, you just got me to post after 5 months of self-imposed lurking.

(I would say General Lee is among us, but even he isn't that obvious.)

Welcome to APC. You're gonna last about as long as your intellectual agility will let you... I'm guessing about another day.....

Right, he answers a post on how to get a job with FEDEX by saying how much it sucks to work here. His next post confirms what I suspected (he never worked here) and says what a bunch of Arseholes we are. And I am not supposed to assume there is a little organ envy on his part.

I tried being nice in my response to his first post but obviously he wanted none of it.

Sorry if I am a little testy. It is only a week from payday and my wallet is still a little large to sit comfortably on.

You don't think that there is the possibility that he has resurected himself from another screen name do you? Nah, probably not.

You are in the 10%. I bet your a kick in the pants to fly with.

PS. I didn't get rejected from there. I just don't want to work in that environment.

Here's some food for thought.....

Nearly a decade ago, scientists up in the northeast on the pacific coast, did a study on a fish. They took this fish from his school then removed his brain. They found that this fish could actually live without a brain. It would have a shorter life, but would still make it ok. His swimming patterns were not normal, very radical and not methodical in the least bit. Then they put the brainless fish back in the same school of fish that he once lived in. The school of fish followed him. The brainless fish was their new leader, every time he'd make a radical turn that made no sense, the entire school would follow him exactly. If he'd turn back, the left, then right, then left, the entire school of thousands of fish, followed precisely.

Sometimes in life, especially in the airlines, a brainless fish will senselessly choose one carrier is it's best choice, then thousands of other airline pilots in the same school will follow over. Will they live a shorter life? Maybe the FDX Union will answer that with the statisical analysis of their 3 year life expectancy after retirement.

I know a guy who retired their. Cancer ate him up when he was in his late 50's. Doctors said it was most likely from lack of sleep during his career. Through the use of modern medicine's the cancer was cured. After a year he was back to his normal 6'6" 240lb build. A few more years went by and he retired. Then a year later, the cancer returned. This time, after treatments, he now ways 140 lbs and cannot keep any food down. He will die this way. My heart, deeply goes out for his family. My prayers are for him often.

Hijacked thread!!!!!!

Boy!......Here to talk about flying in the wildblue yonder and you lecture about grammatical BS. I suppose you would not understand the basic rule states that a singular subject takes a singular verb, while a plural subject takes a plural verb, would you? Sorry if its difficult to type from my palm treo.

Funny how when people shoot you a straight line you change the subject to minor nit picky pathetic lowlife piece of dirt scumbag idiotic shabby insults of grammatical miscommunication. BTW that was a run-on type sentence.
