When you generalize, you generally prove to everyone that you are an idiot. You've taken a sample size of 8000 and divided them between "arogant" and "very nice" based on the color of their uniform. Here's your sign! BTW, "straight shooter" is a compliment used by others to describe someone's personality. i.e. "You'll like Bob, he's a real straight shooter". In my experience, guys who compliment themselves, as in calling themselves "StraightShooter", are thought of by others differently. (anal sphincter comes to mind). So, next time you reappear with a different screen name and are considering "Ace", "Zorro" or "Studmuffin"....keep that in mind.

The three internal recommendations you need....do those have to be from a pilot or can they be from any fedex employee? I used to work as a box thrower and later as a customer service agent. I left on good terms and I know two managers that would write me glowing recommendations. They're both the type that would make a career out of fedex and I imagine by the time I meet the FedEx mins they will be much higher up in the company. Any thoughts?

As mentioned in other posts, networking, networking, networking has been the key to getting hired for most folks at Fedex. Go out and try to get as many Fedex pilot contacts as you can find. When you do, invite them to go flying with you.
Of course, all of this is kind of moot for the next year or two. But, if it's going to be a few years before you build up your hours, your timing might be good. Good luck.

HA! that was a great response, one of the best I've seen. Just wanted to say I volunteer in youth aviation awareness group every summer and the cargo guys are the first ones to give their free time and open their wallets for the program. That guy just sounds a little upset he is not in your guys shoes. I know I'm doing what I can to get their one day.
P.S. If I worked throwing boxes during high school/college and left on good terms to go to school will that work just as good as working their while trying to get a pilot job?
