FDX - Aug08 Disputed Pairings
ALPA's founders chose "Schedule with Safety" as our motto. The SIG/PSIT is Scheduling for OUR Safety !!
Support them in upholding the standard -- Don't fly disputed pairings!
Remind those you know who fly disputed pairs, either by force or by choice, to fill out a Critique Sheet on their experiences (or email/call the SIG) so they have ammunition for the disputed pairs resolution process.

Disputed Pairings
The following is the FedEx MEC’s definitive list of the pairings that are disputed for August 2008. These pairings should not be available in any bid pack lines and should not be assigned to any secondary lines without a specific request, by pairing number, from the crewmember to do so. The comments associated with the disputes are those of the ALPA SIG/PSIT.

We originally submitted 16 pairings into the monthly dispute resolution process but only pairing 207 remained in dispute. This pairing operates 3 times during the bid period and has rolling duty periods that operate in the critical, night, day, critical, and night periods. We feel this design does not provide our crewmembers with adequate rest periods and is an example of circadian rhythm disruptions in our pairings. If you are awarded this pairing on reserve, please provide us with your critique and sleep logs.

Business as usual
All I can say is, it's business as usual here at Fedex. The old motto, "I've got mine, "F" you" is alive and well. We will never get anything accomplished around here as long as we have guy's who can look at themselves in the mirror in the morning and say "I don't have a problem with screwing my fellow ALPA members, as long as I get what I want". They flew draft and volunteer during negotiation, they continue to fly disputed pairings and qualify them to be "UN" disputed. So how do we win? I've been trying to figure this out for 23 year's. It's a losing battle. To put it into term's that all the military boy's can understand....I wouldn't want ANY of those guy's to be my wingman!!!

disputed parings
Forgive me for asking, I'm not a Fedex employee, but what's wrong with the dp's? Myabe I shouldn't be in this forum, but just reading and trying to get a handle on what the dispute is, but can't see pairings.

It is declared onerous by the union people who do our schedule. Could be one or two issues generally having to do with rest issues.
