Default Mainz, Germany...where to go?

I'll be in Mainz (FRA) for three nights next week while on vacation with family & friends. I haven't had a layover there in eight years. I recall the names "Piano Bar" and "Rosey's", but can't remember the actual places (they must have been pretty good).
Any advice on what to do, where to go?

Thanks in advance. -C.

Since we don't know where you're staying, directions are tough... but I can show you:

Go to Google Earth:

Rosies: N49 deg 59 min 46.32 sec
E 008 deg 16 min 35.19 sec

Piano Bar: N 50 deg 00 min 01.60 sec
E 008 deg 16 min 33.36 sec

I live just across the river from Mainz, as I am currently stationed in Wiesbaden. Are you interested in night life or in more traditional tourist stuff? I can give all sorts of recommendations.

Mostly interested in Bars/Restaraunts we can walk to. Will probably take a day trip to Rhudesheim, but will let the women decide on that type of stuff unless you know of something we shouldn't pass up.

I don't know the name of the place, but if you want to buy some nice wine glasses and stuff like that, there is a place close to Mainz. Conceirge will be able to tell you. Short bus ride.

You only need one bit of information. Manford's email and phone number.

He can help you out better than any person on this board (sorry Tony).
I don't have his number or email but, I'm sure someone on here does or it's on the company web site. Most of us know the smoky bars and pubs. Manford will know better stuff for a family. He took me out to a museum last week that was great and took the day to go through. Manford is the Man in Mainz/Germany period.

I've seen him doing 150 klicks in his van, leather gloves on, F1 racing on the TV mounted in the dash, handing out bieres to the crew behind him.... Manfred is the man.
