I honestly can't see UPS hiring anytime soon either. I hate to say that when poolies are hoping for a class date, but if I were in the pool I would rather have accurate info to make some decisions.

I just can't fathom a scenario where we will need to hire until the old guys start retiring again in 2012 at the earliest.

I can think of a lot of things I'd rather do than reinterview but in the big scheme of things it's a pretty small price to pay. I just hope the poolies get some credit and don't have to wait for an open application window or have to redo the psych eval or get the seemingly random call for the interview...

I spoke to HR several months ago and was told that it all will really depend on the policies of whomever is in charge of hiring when the time comes. She couldn't tell me anything about pool status or the need to reinterview when the time comes or anything. I guess I'll just keep treading and be thankful that I've got a good job in the mean time.

So tell me again, what is second year pay going to be in 2013? $149+ or something, I think I can wait for the call for a few more years.

Is it true that if you fail the psych evaluation you will not be interviewed? I heard some story where someone couldn't even interview with all his experience because he failed the evaluation!

I can go into the UPS website and update my application ... and have been doing so, like I have a snowballs chance in you know where of getting called.

Anyone else able to do the same?

If the mysterious computer picks you for the interview, you are first sent a link to an online psychological evaluation.

If you "fail" the eval, you are out of the process.

If you pass, you are called for an interview & sim eval.

If you pass that, you are in the pool.

That was a fairly recent thing... I believe they started doing those about a year or so before the hiring stopped...
