UPS to open base in DAY

Starting in Jan 15th UPS will begin operations out of Dayton. UPS will lease the buildings currently vacant on the west side of the airport from the city of Vandalia. The buildings were originally used to house the operations for Emory.

Will that include a pilot base?

Yes this will include a pilot base. Dayton will serve to lighten the load on SDF.

Really? Wow, that'd be great for some of our pilots who live in that area but it sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

Not true

Dayton is not it. The new base is Austin Texas. MD11 Austin to DFW twice a day with a weekend trip to Roatan. You heard it here. :D

We already own those buildings. They were part of the Menlo acquisition.

I heard HNL from a real good source. Company paid condo on the beach too. Plus $1500 COLA for all crew members. ;)

any speculations as to future application windows to go with a new domicile, I'll go to HNL (and stop holding my breath when I get there)
