The early analog PanAm A300's had a "flight engineer." They used to say that they read the newspaper between preflights (Airbus had designed them to be flown by a 2-man crew ). They had a (fully automated) FE panel!*?

NAC is CASS, QOL seems pretty good (city based, two runs a day usually), and they will not even bother looking at your resume if you are not: currently an Alaska resident, flying in Alaska, or have significant former Alaska flying experience.

Good luck to all, but NAC is a goal of a significant portion of the Alaska pilot population. Unless you currently fly for Ryan, Era (conglomerate), Grant, ACE, Bering, PenAir, and maybe Yut, I wouldn't expect too much, but here's to hoping!

Does 4000 hrs in a turbo prop flying in SE AK count. I do not live in AK though.

DHL/Astar operated A300B4 with a SO until July 2009. Like you said Mark not much to do except preflight.:)

Wien had FE's on the 737 as well.

I didnt work as a pilot, but as a ramper. I was very impressed with the company.

They have just aquired a 737-300F, and have another 737-200 sitting on the property that will be converted at some point in time.

Does anybody have any inside contact info for NAC they may be willing to PM to me? I tried to drop a resume by this morning, but got stopped up at the front desk and told that all hiring must be done online. She was actually very nice and I think would have sent me through to see the CP, but he was not in the office today.

I can not remember the hiring persons name at the moment. If I find her card I will pass along the info.

Right now they have two 737s, one -300 and one -200 floating around down in "America". I think they work two on two off, but I am not sure.

If you're on PPW PM mar. He's a former NAC DC-6 Capt now flying for Atlas. If you're in ANC he's a good guy to have lunch with.

Also, if you're prior service (esp. w/ C130 time) per their website Lynden is hiring two FOs.

No prob, someone posted those openings on another board; I just brought them over here.

Last person I know that got hired was an Everts DC-6 Capt. that sometimes posts here.

From NACs website:

Effective 04/04/2011, Faxed or paper applications will no longer be accepted for new applicants. If you would like to apply for employment with Northern Air Cargo, all applicants are required to apply online using our secure job board. (Will launch in a new window.)
A bunch of FO positions on there. Only stated mins are ATP, although as has been said if you're not an Alaska guy already your chances are slim to none.
