Default The shortest way to a Cargo Job?

Any suggestion is welcome.
I am trying to move from my present position (LJ FO, soon to be Upgraded) to to a freighter position, ideally 727 or better, and I just don`t seem to be getting anywhere.
I really want to get out the 135 scene, I would love to be gone 2/3 weeks at the time and actually enjoy International flying, any ideas?
I flooded HR department with resumes, but that did little good! If you have any suggestion feel free!

Thanks in advance

Flooding H.R. departments with your resume isn't likely to do the trick. Make friends with those who work at the jobs you want to work at. You're already flying Lears, so you're building great hours. This job requires you to network in order to get your next, so get busy. Before long you'll be flying the type of job you want.

Where do you live? Who have you contacted besides sending resumes?

A buddy of mine flies 727 for a freight company, but he has not been capable of pulling any strings!

What about you? Pm me with your ideas, I welcome all suggestions

Default The Fedex way

Fedex has two ways to get a flying job.
1. Connections: You need (read: must have) a buddy (the more the merrier) recommend you, its part of the app process. Preferable they have flown with you and can vouch form your flying abilty. Having (started the process to) gone to bat for a friend I found that because of the large number of Fedex apps with referrals FM is requesting that Fedex pilots who "TRULY" are willy to go to bat for thier referral to fill out additional forms stating why, how, etc, etc this applicant is worthey to work at Fedex. Additionally a trip (together) to see the CP (arranged ahead of time, not a pop-in) is suggested. This is all because of the sheer quanity of apps on file and is being used as another way to cull applications .
2. Internal. Great way for the pilot who lacks friends at Fedex (or doesn't want to use the ones they know ) Work at Fedex, throwing boxes or some other ramp job, apply after a set period time (don't quote me here, it may be a year or maybe a bit longer, certainly not more than two years, find out before you give up your day job if you think it could be too long) requirements are the same as externial apps, no advantage there, but you do get preferental treatment in several areas that outsiders don't. If you meet the quals for Fedex and are willing to throw boxes to get this job. Do more investigating, I may have some of the facts wrong so ask someone who has gotten on as an "internal".

Try this:

http://www.evergreenaviation.com/emp/jobs/00417.html

Job Opening : Requisition # Location Evergreen Company Posted
B747-200 First Officer : 00417 McMinnville, OR AIRLINES 5/4/05

Evergreen International Airlines currently has B747-200 First Officer positions available. Ideal candidates need to have a minimum total fixed wing time of 4000 hours PIC or SIC, minimum fixed wing multi-engine time of 1000 hours PIC, and minimum fixed wing turbine or jet time of 1000 hours PIC or SIC. Occasional deviations are made from these guidelines, but only when some other factor offsets the lack of experience required. This is a full time positions with competitive pay and benefits.

****even if you are short in some areas, give it a try as they are known to look at the "whole person", and not just the hours.
