Default Fedex Wilmington OH Rumor

Ok,
Here's a good one. Can someone substantiate? My sister, the Dr, just calls me from Las Vegas airport on a trip back to Dayton Oh where she lives and her spouse works at ABX. She says that she just heard that FEDEX just bought the Wilmington freight facility that DHL had poured gazillions of dollars in and left. Could that be true?

Nothing on any of the Aviation News websites about it?

It's not FEDEX that bought it, it's the FEDEX truckers. It's going to be their union hall once they are recognized as FEDEX employees.

Highly unlikely we'd buy Wilmington since Indy is nearby.

Not entirely true.

How close is the nearest FedEx ground sort facility?

Just opened a new distribution facility in Northern Kentucky. I highly doubt the rumor has any truth to it.

Heard from another ABX source that FDX put in a "bid" of some type for the ILN facility. Even had an amount, 177 million. Might be rumor but it has some legs, like any good rumor !

I don't doubt that the ABX guys are hearing the rumors. I think that if they were true they would be coming from IND to. I just don't see why purchase Wilmington. With the new ground distribution facility in Northern Kentucky and Indy so close it seems crazy. Isn't Northern Kentucky just a stone throw from Wilmington anyway.
