Default FDX - MEC message line for tonight

Does anybody else but me wonder why our MEC has chosen Friday, October 31st at NOON to have a hub-turn meeting? Let's see, reduced flight schedule on weekends, and who shows for their 3pm departure at NOON?

Another attempt at sidestepping culpability regarding the tough questions.

Should be a great turn-out!

Since a lot of people are gonna be off that day why not set up a pool, cabana, and open bar!

So they picked the 31st just to avoid tough questions? Are you serious? Is your phone tapped? Are their aliens in deepfreeze in Area 51? Is there a secret government conspiracy to crash the economy just so a certain candidate can get elected? Are there black helicopters over your house RIGHT NOW???

If the date doesn't work for you, go a different day, geesh.

It is just flame bait.

Be careful, as Yoda said, "Anger, fear, aggression... the dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

An age old philosophy that I have found works well is this: If you believe you have a problem with someone, you owe it to them to go to them first, preferably face-to-face. Bring up your concerns and strive to work out your differences. If you still feel there is a problem, bring a trusted friend with you for another sit-down. I can't attribute the source for this wisdom due to the APC rules of conduct, but it is a beautiful thing.

For the truth is that making strong allegations of wrongdoing without confronting the alleged wrong-doer first is cowardly. It is truly easy to sit on the bench a stir up disension, but it takes a person of courage to perceive a possible problem and deal with it in person. It is true that in the past, Unions have abused the funds of their membership as well as abused power.

But to accuse a fellow FDX aviator of such before a crowd without first allowing him to answer the accusation is wrong and not really the way any of us would want to be treated.

Our pilot group will never have any semblance of unity as long as some of us hide in the bushes and shoot other of our number in the back. Let's take a deep breath hear, and allow those who have taken the wrong path to directly deal with those they have accused, then we'll all hold hands and sing kumbaya (Sorry, I never could get the spelling of that song right!)

Also, the excuse of "they wouldn't listen anyway" is a cop-out.

You sir, are obviously new to this site. On this site, everyone shoots first and asks questions later. The larger the bullet size, the better. Truth is of no import here. It's all about the alligation or innuendo. Because of the anonymity here, guys who wouldn't have the guts to say something to someones face, feel perfectly fine with jumping on with both feet. I guess it's just a sign of the times and the internet.

Anyway, welcome to the site. Hopefully you have both a good sense of humor and very thick skin.
