UPS Please remember to vote!

For those of you that have not. Please go vote for your favorite IPA candidates .

⌐ AV8OR WANNABE 11-09-2008 12:47 PM

Agree, please vote folks!

CactusCrew 11-09-2008 02:21 PM

It is not very DEMOCRATIC if I can only vote ONCE ... ;)

:D:D

FR8TFLYER 11-09-2008 04:17 PM

Let's get ACORN involved and I can get my whole family to vote!

MoosePileit 11-09-2008 04:47 PM

More than vote- Ask your crew and J/S's if they are all registered! I'm guessing those active here are on the line and all are now off probation and could vote as it's been a year since any class's indoc day 1.

Active that is until they call you and say to stay home due to lack of volume, or random paid furlough.

There are weeks left in the elections, but a number larger than any number bounced around for the "F" word discussions are not reg'd.

For those short on attention or caffine, that's a quantitative idea, not relating those not reg'd to their seniority/juniority as we don't know that data.

If you are upset enough w/ union life to pay and not even register to vote please consider mgmt. If you max fly and don't vote you are effectively part of mgmt already.

Registering is what sends the bigger message faster. Vote when you have the information to weigh and decide. Don't be part of the aip, you are part of the IPA.

Edit 1- Maybe not ON the line if in retraining, but we can all vote by last DOH.

⌐ AV8OR WANNABE 11-09-2008 05:33 PM

Maybe the union should call every person who hasn't registered yet in person to make sure they haven't forgotten to vote?

CactusCrew 11-09-2008 05:35 PM

Hey Moose,

Sarcasm aside ... I am registered and voted already ...

Why so many others ARE NOT is beyond me. But they aren't the type to see anything online anyay ...

MoosePileit 11-09-2008 05:49 PM

CC and WAB- would have to call everyone in the IPA- there is no list of non reg'd, just number of reg'd. Don't know if non reg'd/non voters would be here or the B&G or just doing their own aip vacuum thing.

So all IPA members - (minus) registered members = all not-registered members, correct? ;)

Trash Hauler 1 11-09-2008 07:25 PM

Nope. The non-reg folks are not identified by name. Just a raw number. So , remind everyone you fly with to register and vote!

So are the registered folks identified by name?

Ps. I am reminding everyone I know already.

Trash Hauler 1 11-09-2008 07:45 PM

No one is identified by name.

767pilot 11-10-2008 02:23 PM

Why do these elections take so long? Do we really need this much time to vote?

Considering over 500 haven't even registered to vote maybe we need more time?

If the EB really wanted more people to vote, all they have to do is include a very controversial proposal in the vote. Something like free beer for EB members and staff or and extra week of vacation for EB and Committee members!!! There is more than one way to get people to vote! <G>

McBoeingBus 11-10-2008 02:49 PM

Perhaps the 500 don't have faith in any of the candidates that are running and are therefore making a statement by not choosing anyone. Or they are just lazy.

Winged Wheeler 11-10-2008 03:11 PM

A little off topic

In the Soviet Union they actually did have elections, but the Communist party candidate was the only one on the ballot. They did, however, have the option to vote NO. There were actually a few local elections when the party chose a candidate that was so disliked and so odious that NO actually carried the day.

I wonder how NO would have fared last Tuesday, but I digress.

They (the 500) probably are just lazy.

They are just lazy or really old. We actually have several very good candidates in this election.
