Dropping A Trip Near Christmas - FDX
 

I couldn't find it in the contract, but what is the scoop on dropping a trip the day prior or the day after Christmas? Didn't know if there was a limitation within a day or two from the 25th. Thx.

1. Dropping Trips and R-days
   1. A pilot shall have the ability to submit to drop a trip or R-day(s) without pay.
   2. A pilot may not drop a trip or R-day that is scheduled in whole or in part on the following days (i.e. base days): New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
   3. A pilot who drops a trip or R-day(s) shall be eligible for make-up.

Doesn't look like it is specifically prohibited, but you might run up against insufficient reserves. That is 25.L.3. Couldn't make it look like an L for some reason.

I don't know of any contractual restrictions but don't be surprised to get the "Denied due to insufficent reserves" message.

Boxing day is fairgame for dropping a trip. But, just like Jul 5th, or Black Friday.....get the drop in early or you will hit the Denied due to insufficient reserves message

Also, there are no restrictions to trip trading off a holiday. I have traded Holiday trips / swapped R days for other days in the month and then dropped the trip/R day I traded for. :cool:

This year may be more difficult due to the lack of open time trips :(
