Angry FDX shipping via UPS?!

Yesterday I ordered $100+ worth of 'stuff' from the FedEx Collection (https://www.bdasites.com/fedexcollection) to be delivered overnight.

I got it today, and it was delivered UPS overnight!

What the heck! No wonder our volumes are down!

I called and complained, and they pointed out that I wasn't charged for any shipping, but that's because I paid $20 for expedited delivery. Wow!
I wish I knew how to run this up the flagpole...

Didn't you see the article on the front page of the Flight Ops page? The one that wants us to help beat the bush for new business:

Hardly seems appropriate but I did it.

Always call your online merchant after you place the order (or before if you have choices) and ask who they ship with.

Some will accept your FDX shipping account # for shipping whether they are using FDX or another carrier such as USPS. You will often save even if they use FDX since you get the employee discount.

The free shipping sites are the worst about this. They won't tell you in the order who they ship with. You have to call. I will gladly pay to have the correct truck come to my house.

They did ask for my personal FedEx shipping number, and I gave it to them.

And I absolutely made an assumption (incorrectly, it turns out) that a FedEx subsidiary, shipping to a FedEx employee would not ship UPS.

I'm assuming you're UPS, and I'm assuming that you would expect the same when you ordered something from your own company. In that case, no problem...
