Who's Still Hiring?
APC says that Southern Air, Omni Air, and World are hiring but there website does not list any pilot openings. Just wondering if anyone who works at any of these places could comment. Also, I know World is probably out of the question for a regional FO, but I know that the other of two have hired regional FO's in the past with about my times. Anyone know who is actually getting hired at Southern and Omni if they are indeed hiring.
Thanks

I think flightinfo.com might get you some more responses regarding World, Southern, and Omni.
And I think you are correct in that all 3 are hiring. I know World became a bit "choosey" after the Chapter 7 of Gemini and only hired guys with MD-11 ratings for a while. Hopefully that supply of dudes is close to exhausted, and you'd have a shot at an interview. Out of the 3 companies you mentioned, I'd say most of us would agree World is definitely the best one. I have a bunch of ex-ATA friends at World, and the last I talked to them, they all really liked the outfit.

World is still hiring, because their fleet is growing. There are many happy folks there, and a few more there just for comic relief. If southern is still hiring, it's because people are quitting or getting fired. Neither proposition is a good thing. IMHO, Southern is no more than a stepping stone, World could be a comfortable career home, under the current circumstances.
The seniority list at World is populated with some folks who were once no more than a CRJ FO, it's not a show stopper, just depends who else is in the interview pool. What are your quals?
No recent info on Omni, other than they were hiring direct entry Capt's.

Didn't World have a 1000 turbine pic requirement? The exception being I thought I heard they waived it for some of the GAC guys who were already current/qualified.

2000 TT, 1000 Multi, 900 CRJ Right, 980 something PIC all Recip.
I am pretty sure my company is going down in flames and will finally die soon so I'm open for anything as of right now. I know the job market is about as bad/competitive as it can get so I'm not looking forward to leaving. If I could get on with Southern or Omni it would be a raise and a step up from where I'm at now so I would definately do it.
