FDX LEC 26 Election
 

Fellow members of Council 26,
It’s Fred Buesser again, and I’d like to thank you for electing me as a representative for LEC 26. With the election of Paul, Corey, and myself, our LEC has begun the first step in taking back our union and having the MEMBERS wield the power, through their LEC and MEC, to run this union how the membership sees fit. While the changes required to “fix” our union will not happen overnight, I believe we can and will force this union to start working for what the membership wants and to increase membership participation.

We need to insure representation, educate the crew-force, demand union transparency, modernize communications, and ultimately rebuild our unity.

To force these changes we will need strong, determined leadership. In that light, I am asking for your vote as LEC 26 chairman. As I’ve said, I believe I clearly represent a new direction for our union and I will assure you I will push to ensure these changes are made.

I ask that you please take the time to vote to elect a Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary-Treasurer from the recently elected LEC 26 Representatives for the term beginning 3/1/09. Voting opened on 11/14 at 10:00 a.m. ET and the ballot will close on 12/10 at 10:00 a.m. ET. For Internet voting-log on to https://www.ballotpoint.com/alpa. This is the next step in taking back control of our union and I ask that you do your part and exercise your right to vote.
