I was told by a mechanic last month they expected 100. Not saying 80 is much better, but I think they kind of expected this with the 8 going away.

FYI, Not that its good but when you park an A/C like the 8 that requires lots of mx hrs, layoffs are not unheard of....

The DC-8 needed lots of mx hours ?

So what about the unqualified flight mangalers that were on the 8, Are they being let go too? didn't think so. You know what is funny, We now have 1 mangaler per airplane and they are wondering how we can cut cost

I agree with you!! You really think any managers are going to be let go??? Hell, they have already given so much. You know, the freeze in pay and all. If they were REALLY serious in reducing costs, they would cut at least half the managers here!!
