FDX Dividend
Just saw where FDX is paying an 11 cent dividend for this quarter...Things must not be that bad..... or are they? I did a search and the dividend is up over this time last year. Hopefully things aren't as bad as I think they are..... any speculation?

Take a look at the company insiders and see who has enough shares so an 11 cent div makes real money for them. An 11 div means nothing to the common share holder on this stock. Semper me if you're on the BOD:)

Then, there's Fred's losses. Thank you, Mr. President-Elect! |
Expect FedEx to have a decent quarter. Fuel prices have come way down while the top fuel surcharges remained in place. That's a ton of money even with a significant drop in volume that is expected. Looking forward I would expect the fuel surcharges to decrease percentage wise as well as the FedEx announcement concerning the lowering of surcharge costs versus increasing retail prices on customers.

$3,000 +/- is nothing to sneeze at during recessionary times . .and just before Christmas shopping. . . . although it doesn't go any where near covering the major loss in equity over the last few months.

But of course...Obviously, it had to be either Clinton or Obama's fault.

I don't think Fred or any of the other directors and officers are counting on the dividend to fill the X-mas stocking.
It has a lot more to do with managing cash on hand and it does send a signal that things are ok - we're in good shape and don't need to be hoarding cash. It totals out at $35Mil which is small potatoes compared to the $1.5Bil in cash on the books at the end of August. Looking at the last 10Q filing, cash on hand grew by $34Mil in the 4th qtr in spite of an $.11 dividend. |

He doesn't anymore! Capt Drew retired years ago! But your sentiment would have probably applied then as well! :D Ask him what he would do when ATC assigned him a squawk that included 3 consecutive 6s! Or how to go illegal in the field at SAN, his home! ;)

Nice try. Blame the Congress that has been in power less than 2 years for the problems that were started under Clinton's Republican controlled Senate and expanded by Bush. 1. Chris Dodd 2. Barack Obama 3. John Kerry Not bad for a "1st Term Senator". OpenSecrets | Update: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Invest in Lawmakers - Capital Eye |

He simply suggested you do your own research. From your statements, you clearly have no idea what the problems involved with Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac are, when they started, or who is responsible for them. It is worth looking into. Spooky even, given that the folks currently in charge of the Congressional offices responsible for their oversight are the very people who forced through the regulations that brought us to where we are today. Did you know, for example, that the top three recipients of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae campaign contributions are (in order):
1. Chris Dodd 2. Barack Obama 3. John Kerry Not bad for a "1st Term Senator". OpenSecrets | Update: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Invest in Lawmakers - Capital Eye They include all contributions by individuals (over $250) and all PAC money up to September 2nd. Let's see. Who was it that won the democratic nomination? Barack somebody? He got $120k in individual donations from people that work for Freddie/Fannie. He got Millions in donations from all over the country, representing people from all walks of life. Maybe they sensed the need for a change. He only got $6,000 in PAC money. If you want to know who got the big dollars from the PAC's, read a little farther down the list. Hers's a hint...the top three recipients are all Republican. The PAC money is the "buyer" of influence, not the individual donor. On another note, I heard on Art Bell about a crack in the earth that had been discovered up in Washington state (I think.) The U S Army investigated it and could find no bottom....apparently it is a gateway to hell! It is now under constant guard by the military but they are keeping it a secret from all of us. |

Bet you're real proud of that, aren't you? I am proud of the fact that we finally had an above-the-board election where the clear winner of the popular vote also won the electorial college. Makes it a little more convincing when we preach to others about free and open elections. |

Bet you're real proud of that, aren't you? It is also a proven fact that the "0" had disabled all security protocols for his internet donations, and for what altruistic reason might that be? |
I'm thinking of doing the same for my internet donations. I'll let you know when it's done and you can start contributing. That doesn't mean, however, that I'll like you any better then than now.:D But if you feel the need, contribute away.

About Obama’s illegal foreign campaign contributions from GAZA Palestine, which he listed as GA(like Georgia) October 1, 2008 — budsimmons About Obama’s illegal foreign campaign contributions from GAZA Palestine, which he listed as GA(like Georgia) Do you like his slick cuteness, listing GAZA as GA to be confused with GEORGIA (USA)? Palestinian brothers inside the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip are listed in government election filings as having donated $29,521.54 to Sen. Barack Obamas campaign, according to WorldNetDailys (WND) Jerusalem bureau chief, Aaron Klein. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?f… The donations would violate election laws, including prohibitions on receiving donations from foreigners and guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election, Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission, said in response to a query. The contributions also raise numerous questions about the Obama campaigns lax online donation form, which apparently allows for the possibility of foreign contributions. Last week, the Atlas Shrugs blog outlined a series of donations in 2007 made to Obamas campaign from two individuals, Monir Edwan and Hosam Edwan (See 8/4/08, below). In an online form on Obama’s campaign site, the Edwans listed their street as Tal Esaltan, which they wrote was located in Rafah, GA. Rafah is not a city in Georgia. The Atlas blog immediately raised concerns that the money may have been donated from the Gaza Strip town of Rafah. A WND investigation tracked down the Edwans, who are brothers living in the Tal Esaltan neighborhood of Rafah, a large refugee camp in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Speaking to WND, the two brothers praised Obama and admitted giving the money online to his campaign. They said they are not U.S. citizens or green card holders but are citizens of Palestine. |
And when you get tired of reading about Obama's illegal campaign contributions on the World Net Daily site, there is this riveting bit of info:
