Foxhunter is once again starting an over 60 misinformation campaign. With all the free time from tons of vacation and liberal sick leave usage, who can blame them?

What's the next one?

Over 60 guys on viagra are better than a 30 something in bed?

Over 60 rich is the new 45 middle class?

Thread creep-

When do the new episodes of Monk come out?

As for JL's rant a couple years ago, I agree we with him on some principals. I've run across some senior FO's who won't upgrade because "It's too easy not being responsible for anything". That's a direct quote from one of them. I sure wouldn't want him as my FO.

Yes, you have a point, although it is subjective. Contractually, FO's can sit on the right as long as they want. Objectively, that is the way it is. When someones subjective ideas (JL''s) can possibly be used to abrogate someones rights....that is a no go. No matter the intent or reason. Just my 2 cents.

I respectfully disagree Fox. Just like the over 60 crowd proclaims, the senior F/O crowd has ever "RIGHT" to exercise their seniority any way they please. Plenty of ALPA brothers and sisters spilled the strike-blood so that YOU and I and WE can have a seniority number and the privileges that go with it. This isn't Cathay, and it never will be.

I for one, do not mind a highly experienced right seater joining me on round-the-world flight. Remember, a good F/O makes an average Captain better, and Lord knows we have plenty of average Captains.

You are confusing FHs "seniority rights" with everybody else's. Here's the deal, his count, their's don't. Got it?

Anybody that knows JL knows that he has come out with some crazy, um, "stuff" in his time. They also know that he generally means well although sometimes that's hard to tell, and when he was in charge, he could be a good person to have your back.
That being said, if the company or a majority of the group thought that letting people bid and/or stay in whatever domicile, equipment, seat, trip type they wanted based on seniority was a problem big enough to change, it would have been brought up in negotiations. Until contractually changed, it is a moot point. If the person in the left, right, back, lca, and whatever other seats there are can do the job, and that sometimes can be a big if, there isn't much else that matters.

Looks like Jack was WAY off target.

I personally see no reason to upgrade until our lousy trips improve. I wouldn't even begin to consider killing myself for this job.

Again, the other guy I quoted was right on target. Jack was way off.

Random thoughts ... in no particular order

1. I liked JL and thought he was the most "pilot friendly" SCPs we've had since I've been here. That said, I sometimes wondered if he emailed us after too many Jack Daniels?

2. Is there a problem with professional f/o's? I'm not sure, I look forward to flying with the really senior f/o's as I can count on them to do a really good job. That said, I've been very pleasantly surprised at the really good job the junior f/o' do also. Thanks for the good support Md-11 f/o's (no sarcasm intended)

3. International layover security ... It's getting scarier out there. Any chance of expanding FFDO authority to overseas locations?

4. FoxHunter should never be taken seriously, it just gives him undeserved credit? And I hate seeing him gloat.

5. JetJok ... I took my wife for a doctors appointment today. The doctor had a display of velcro Orthopedic shoes. Made me think of you and the other ND's/WD's

6. Overmanning/furloughs ... sure do wish we could get a reliable reading from management on this issue instead of the mealy-mouthed version floating around APC (like the "Flame On" email)

7. Howard (flex guy) ... I never intended to disparage the flex/profesional instructors. Almost without exception, I've received exceptional training. Thanks

Mark
