My fave is an unnamed MEM Capt who wears a bunny costume, powder blue, complete with cotton tail, cuffs and footies. With 4 stripes sewn on the shoulders. It's a true classic.

Some guys are just more fun to fly with than others...

I've never seen the "bunny" but we DO have one that wears full length, neck to ankle long sleeve PJs that have fire engines all over the place. You know what?,...it looks good on him!

I'll take the bath rode with it's associated dangers over Bunny suits or fire engine pj's!

At least my pants say "Guinness" on them!

Never underestimate the power of self-delusion. :D

Actually...no. He's a dark haired guy with a moustache, but the suit looks awesome. My Hawaiian shirts and Brazilian flip-flops pale in comparison.

Im young and inexperienced, but have been browsing these forums for over 2 years now. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of Cargo pilots seem more or less happy, while passenger airline pilots are much more likely to be miserable and bitter. Corporate pilots seem to fall somewhere in between.

If that's all you've learned in two years of browsing APC, then you're hopeless. A young, inexperienced, and SMART pilot would've switched over to lawyer, doctor, or banker forums long before now.

Maybe not the Banker forums....:o

Actually, most corporate pilots are happy...as long as the flight department doesn't become a sacrificial lamb to keep politicians happy.

I'd argue that in my experiences in the airline, corporate, and cargo worlds that fractional pilots are the most happy of all. They get the best of both worlds from pure corporate and airline flying, fly new airplanes, keep all their hotel points/FF miles for personal use, get lots of crew meals and (generally) are well compensated for the work they do. When your biggest gripe is when the crew meal sandwich came with a packet of mustard instead of mayo, I'd say you're doing pretty good.

That said, its quite hard to argue with the economic strength of companies like UPS and FedEx, even in this down economy...a little job security goes a LONG way to minimizing complaints.

And the Cargo pilots THINK there doing great by default.

I'll take that 180 compared to what I'll be getting come Jan. I guess its a matter of perception.....Its like people tell me well at least you are healthy....That is very true but hard to see sometimes as we take our situations (health/Jobs) for granted.

You must be pretty junior. The number of furloughs was around 35 or so announced so far. Sure 180 sounds great, but this is for a 25 year captain flying the 777/747. Not near the 318 it was in 2003.

That 'ego' thing is not necessarily the exclusive domain of the PAX pilot!

You COULD end up flying freight -and be delusional, like THIS guy:Matt Culpepper of California \ Nevada Web Site

Or, you could stop at the Kroger on the way home from the airport, in uniform, and give the housewives a thrill. That might be more special than strutting it through the terminal.
