FedEx Ski Disc.
Does anyone know if we get discounts on lift tickets in Colorado or Utah. I tried to look up info on the old FedEx ski club(via greenscreen) and could not find any info. Has anyone had luck just showing their crew badge and getting discounts once they get there or does one need to call ahead?

If you don't find a FedEx discount, if you're flying into DEN or COS and then driving to the slopes, go to a front range Safeway or King Sooper grocery store. You can get discount tickets there.

Ski discounts
I've tried several of the Park City, Utah resorts without success (although I could usually count on a discount at the same resorts in my pax airline days).
Several (maybe more than several?) of the local ski shops between Salt Lake City and Park City have discounted lift tickets available for purchase at their shops. Of course you'll have to do that on your way to the slopes. There used to be a ski shop in the baggage claim area at the SLC airport that had the discount tickets. |
ski free utah
some Utah resorts offer free skiing on the day you fly in. I've operated in and used my trip sheet as proof -- they honored the deal:
Ski On Us The Day You Arrive |
The corporate perks website has deals on Park City, $25 off an adult one day pass...not bad at all.
Link might now work, but if you haven't signed up for this site, its got some good deals. http://us.corporateperks.com/secured...&uOfferID=2076 |
Anybody know about the Tahoe area? Taking my kids out there in FEB and looking for any deals available.
Thanks in advance. |

New cars? Lift tickets for expensive skiing vacations at exotic locations? What's next, a new Captains house? I thought all you guys were all sweating the "F" thing.

Vail will give a discount. Amounts to about the same as having a Colorado card. Vail ticket will run you around $55.00 vs. @$75.00. This should be the same for all the other Vail Associates owned resorts as well including the Tahoe owned resorts.

Check 6,
Heavenly (and all Vail resorts) give a discount to airline pilots on their list. For the most part it's the legacies but stoner ski bums working the counter for $8/hr don't really care who you work for. 10 days of skiing out at Vail, BC and Keystone last year and I never even had to show my ID. |

Tahoe Ski Area Discounts
Over the last couple of years Squaw has been giving out free lift tickets to the Military, they required the active duty ID card (including Reserves and Guard).
Chances are Northstar Ski Resort has the same rules. Sugar Bowl as of last year gave all military ID card holders 50% off, not sure about this year. Each ski resort in the Lake Tahoe area has a web site with ticket discounts listed. For example, Mt Rose offers 2-for-1 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays is half off for those over 50, and Thursdays is Lady's day. Another option for retired military is to call Fallon NAS rec center. They have deals and will mail you tickets. REI has deals for Tahoe also. I've never tried the Airline ID for discounts at Tahoe because of all the local discounts available. You can PM me if you have questions about skiing Tahoe. |

If you're going to ski more than about 6 days at any of the Vail Resorts (Vail, BC, Keystone, Breck) plus Arapahoe Basin it is worth it to just buy a season pass. The Epic Pass was $579 this year and includes Heavenly, plus unlimited access and no blackouts at the other 5 resorts. The Colorado pass is unlimited at Keystone, Breck and the Basin plus you get 10 days at Vail or Beaver and is about 100$ cheaper depending on when you buy it. Having the pass will then allow you to buy discount tix for the rest of your family, plus you'll get emails about discounted lodging and food and what not.
Also, a month or so ago Skiing magazine had an article on 'recession proof' skiing, basically great deals around the country at different resorts. Now someone get out to Tahoe and tell me how bottomless it is right now! :D |
Oh, most noble Vice-Mayor of Wanchi, I thought you only skied topless? ;)
I've now have lost my appetite. fbh |
