Kind of surprizing how many mgt, former mgt, and instructor block guys have jumped on the wagon.

Why would you say that?

What is the pay rate for the 777?

Has anyone looked at the demographics of where most of the guys bidding the 777 live? I'd think that the vast majority of them live in or around Memphis. With that in mind, I can understand why one would bid that jet, regardless of the fact that there still isn't a pay scale or realistic flight schedule. I'd bet that most guys just want to trade some flying for being home every night, at least during training, and then more of the same for a few years, while the company takes delivery of the new jets. I believe that like ANC (during the summer), reserve will go senior, so those guys can hang out at home.

Our Union NC spent negotiating capital at the table on A380 pay rates, but was short-sighted enough to be rooked by a simple bait-and-switch. This is the same NC that allowed the instructor block to take a big hit on the last contract while the company was making money hand over fist. Same one that sprinkled a sugar coating on the Magical LOA POS pills and then started a travelling roadshow extravaganza to sell them.

In spite of all this, a number of you contend that if we merely don't bid the 777, we'll FORCE that bad ol' company to capitulate. And you're all worked up in a lather against anyone who would bid it. Anyone who bids the 777 with the current situation knows what they are getting into and are certainly not responsible for whatever outcome is finally salvaged. If you want to focus your angst somewhere, try our own Union who takes 2% of our pay yet consistently looks like the Keystone Kops.

4.a.2.b's a com'in folks. If it does the boys and girls on the 777 final bid would be extremely vulnerable to monthly BLG mins...........food for thought.

out:cool:

I know I'm still new around here, but, didn't we get the higher A380 rates because we agreed for the 757 to be at narrow body pay...kind of a trade off?
If they are going to *uck us on 777 Ultra long pay now, then I think we should insist on the 757 being payed at WB pay like every other airline!

Once again, the most senior dudes in the company are only being good union members when it's good for them. To hell with what anyone is trying to accomplish...what's good for me is good for me. At least the FO ranks are showing some solidarity and sack (though it could be better). If your name is on that list you should be embarrassed.
