Default How to get Ferry Pilot gig?

Hello all, and sorry if this is not under the right forum. I can't seem to find a clear explanation of how to become a ferry pilot. Most websites for ferry service companies have no employment link. What are general requirements? How can one get the experience required for insurance if everyone requires ferry experience? Do you have to just ride along with other ferry pilots?
I have just over 1100 TT, and I will probably have 1400-1500 by April.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I flew flew a couple trips for Southern Cross Aviation in 1990 from there base in So Calif. and maint.contractor in Mena ,Ark.
I was flight instrucing in Camorillo, Calif. and just got hired by a Metro Liner operator in Oxnard,Ca.
I just kept walking into there offices and updating my resume. Letting them know you're interested and available was the key. Worked at getting hired at UPS 15 years ago too.
I took a C-210 from Arkansas to Wonderboom, South Africa. Before I left Ark., the other pilot (flight of 2) saw a crack on my cylinder flange. Mid way over to Azores, he noted I had oil streaking my fuselage. Taking off from Mareira Islands at sunset and climbing into overcast I had an electrical failure.
Good luck!

What is your point? Did they fix your aircraft or did you fly it across the ocean with those problems?

proskuneho,
Check out this closed thread in "hangar talk", some of the posters appear to have ferry experience. At least internationally, suppose a PM to them would be beneficial for you. 'seoceancrosser' was one of the experienced ferry pilots.
Good luck

Cactus Crew,

Just wondering whether all the Mx issues Peridavi had were known beforehand, or they occurred and were fixed during the ferry. If he knew beforehand he'd got bigger ones than me!
