These beauties are brought to you by management. So far I am really liking all the day night sleep cycle flip/flops!:( |
These are the best they will be........it's only going to get worse from here on out. Buckle up tight.........

Buy Up Savings
I hate math in public, but here is what I get as far as 'savings per seat' from not buying-up to 68 in Feb. I used the following for pay assumptions:
WB Capt @ 12yr WB F/O @ 10yr WB S/O at 8yr NB Capt @ 12yr NB F/O @ 6yr NB S/O @ 4yr MD-11 ANC: C - $110.7K F - $204.9K MD-11 MEM: C - $480.6K F - $507.0K MD-11 LAX: C - $69.9K F - $82.9K A300 MEM: C - $892.7K F - $235.2K 727: C - $396.2K F - $146.7K S - $123.2K DC-10: C - $124.4K F - $68.9K S - $41.4K Total savings for Feb are $3.5M. These numbers are just fluff, but they do show where we're fattest. |

That's one way to look at it. Another way would be, That's how much the company will have to pay back after losing the grievance.
Has anyone confirmed the ANC/LAX reserve fiasco? Is it a Typo?? (It had better be) |
Sounds like PC and his gang didn't get what they wanted for Christmas.
|
I don't work in management, but that doesn't look like '800 overmanned' lines to ME!!!
What are they thinking? |
The 727 SO lines make no sense-
I use Bid X, and it appears that they built 244 lines, most of which are easily commutable. I commute out of south Florida, so I'm happy to see these lines. But what I'm confused about is the fact that each line...lets say it is a Philadelphia line...Is repeated six or seven times. What gives? They cannot have 6 SO's flying the same line! How is this going to work~ N? |

Yea, and wouldn't it be great if the grievance paid everyone the same lump sum, even to the guys that were still able to make full pay:eek:

now now
I am sure that any settlement will be paid directly to FedEx ALPA just like the scope payments were. Then we will use it to buy out FoxHunter and his pals to retire, thus the company gets its manning problem solved, the union's mitigation strategy is used and it comes out of our pockets. Cost neutral to the company, not counting the bonuses for those that orchestrated it.
Think HCSA Redux!!!!!!!!!!!:( Actually I say that in jest, just to torque off any MEC Lurkers on here. Especially SleepyF-18. In reality, I believe that the reason the 757 BLG is so high relative to others is to foster anti-ND sentiment. Figuratively twisting the arrow lodged in my chest to remind me who shot it. I refuse to get mad at the old-fkrs who are on that jet, and in a newly acquired evangelical zeal, I have forgiven DW in my heart.....they didn't build the bid packs. I won't play into the hand of he who seeks advantage. Like some ugly ethnic slurs used too frequently today, some things can only be permissibly done within a group. Trying to divide us by playing upon our fears and differences will only serve to make me abandon my differences and fear:). They may be old, wrinkly, stinky, greedy near-dead bastages, and self-congratulatory MEC blowhards who ignore the will of the membership and bid airplanes we have pay issues with........but their my old, wrinkly, stinky, greedy near-dead bastages, and self-congratulatory MEC blowhards who ignored the will of the membership and bid the 777......but who are now standing shoulder to shoulder with me. FoxHunter......he's not heavy....he's my neardead.:D Look for the MEC to "do the right thing" (and I really do mean a good thing) shortly. I have some scoop that even BoyCaptain is not privy to. I may even have to pull my own weight and volunteer at Kirby. |

If you really want to show a more accurate number...divide the number crewmembers in that particular seat by the amount saved to get how much was saved for EACH crewmember and not the whole seat. :D That would show where we are more fat. I'd do it myself but I'm not on reserve doing absolutely nothing! BTW, great job on your calculated cost savings to the company. |
Riiiiiiight, I'm sure the company doesn't have a clue how much $$ they're going to save by not buying up the lines... I was just interested since the oft qouted number around here was 'one million per month'. Obviously, that was low.

No doubt that was when they were building lines to 65 hrs and buying them up to 68 hours? Not exactly the same situation today? |
