The email likely just made it's way to him. It showed up last week at our reserve squadron and the DO sent it out to everyone.

I thought it might be a premonition of the big "F". A little while back he put something out about looking into and advocating personal leaves of absence, the he was looking into flying on the side limitations being lifted, now this.

Guess I am buying into the hype...oh well.

Personal leaves of absence still have the 90 days at a time restriction. Kinda easy to advocate it when it's spelled out right there in the CBA. Good job sticking up for the pilots "O".

I don't know what he meant by "looking into it". Maybe it was like looking into accepted fares and not canceling grnd transpo when you deviated. Both of those went nowhere.....

On the bright side - "O"'s e-mails are getting better!

I guess we aren't really overmanned with the Personal leaves still restricted to 90 days per CBA. Kinda hard to go that route and plan a long absence....

Holy mixed message from management Batman!

The Air Force recently (last week) put the "limited recall to Active Duty" program into effect. They are actually taking and processing applications now.

A few months back the Air Force asked a bunch of chief pilots to publicize the original proposal....apparently the Air Force wanted to put out a feeler and see how much interest there may be at a few different airlines. Hence the recall FCIF a few months ago.

The AF must have contacted the chief pilots once again to let them know they decided to go through with the recall program.

Not sure how many takers so far.

Default It's a BIG AF push---

I don't think so. This is much more an AF active duty undermanning problem with pilots in rated staff positions, deployments in rated staff positions, and postions in UAVs and new Intel aircraft.

There is a big effort in the AF to try to keep rated staff positions filled. So this is there effort to go after retired active duty pilots and retired reserve pilots to bring them on active duty. They have asked all employers of former and retired pilots to publicize this.

Heck a buddy of mine working as a senior engineer at Boeing (and a retired AF pilot) just got the message from his HR folks at Boeing.

This is an AF effort---not something just at FedEx. The AF is trying to get the word out to as many retirees as possible.
