FDX: Carryover Trip - Vacation Slide?
Assuming you have vacation the first week of a bid month (e.g. Apr), and you are awarded a line in the previous bid-month (e.g. Mar) that has a small amount of carryover (1 day on the backend of a w/e layover) you want to fly (e.g. in Apr), when should/can you slide the vacation to deconflict with that carryover?
I assume one would need to slide it "right" (at least one day) during the Conflict Input window for the first bid month (e.g. Mar) to protect the carryover trip?
...but then are you allowed to slide it "again" (i.e. up to another 4 days?) during the Conflict Input window for the actual vacation month (e.g Apr) once you get your schedule for that month?
(...hoping that all makes sense, though awkwardly worded)

Based on my experience, your mileage may vary ! Have to include a disclaimer...

But, will I have an opportunity to "expand it" in the Apr CI window, once I know my Apr schedule?
Thanks.

DLax, I **think** you can expand more than once. Only one slide, but I think a second expansion is OK. But....you better ask one of the Planners or the Contract Enforcement folks at the Union. I'm pretty sure I had a vacation that went across two bid periods and I expanded in both months to use up all the vacation days. Good luck.

Many guys will slide a vacation on week 1 of a month only 1 day back into the previous month and then expand. In the next month they will bid reserve or VTO and take advantage of the requirement to give you a day credit for each actual V day in the second month, regardless of how many CH you expanded in the first month. Hope that makes sense.
Good luck.

You should be able to slide it further away from the carry in trip during the APR bid month adjust window as well as expand it.
Just can't conflict with the carryover trip after the MAR opportunity.
But, haven't been in that situation so who knows how the software really works.
Remember, if it's an intl trip need 48 hours so 1 day slide may not do it.
And on the expansion when bracketing bid periods, can expand in both months. I know one guy who bids 14 days off first part of August to get July and August completely off by expanding/slides. Puts him in the hole Vacation bank wise, but, he min runs his other vacation periods and the occasional MUV to make it work.
