Ram Air Freight

Anybody know anything about Ram Air Freight? Looking in to them and just wanted to get a heads up! Thanks!

Ah, RAF

I am a retired "veteran" of Ram Air and have to say that outside of the pay, it was a great place to work. You will get the best piston experience you can get just about anywhere. The company is growing and will be until everything goes electronic with bank checks. There is also some charter work for UPS and ABX.

The schedules were great... ex: show time 1:30PM .. fly 4.5 hours .. done at 7:30-8 PM + bank holidays off. Some worse, some a little better. Pay when I was there started at $60 a day and maxed out at $108 a day based on tenure and duty time per run. Airplanes are well maintained for a 135 carrier and now there are bases in RDU, ORL, JAX, RIC, JQF, and I think a few others. Flying in NC and VA will get you plenty of thunderstorm and icing experience... if you get excited about that. I don't think one of the planes that I flew had even a working strike-finder. ATC will be your best friend or worst enemy on certain days.

I have plenty of great memories from Ram both inside the plane and out. Usually a pretty fun crowd to drink with there.

Hope this helps...
