There was a doumentary about that event on 60 minutes awhile back. He wanted to turn the plane around and crash it into the FedEx facility! What a whack job!

The only good deal about that is that since no one was killed the prosecuter only went after him for 20 years. But, at trial (Federal) the judge gave him life, and no parol with the feds, so he is gone and some "bad mans girlfriend" for life.

My hart just sank and it made me sick to my stomach reading the transcript.

I'm glad the crew survived, but what an awful price to pay... Dealing with nightmares every night, life as a handicapped, scars, etc and no flying career. At least they are still able to see the sun rise and set every day and be with their friends and family and have the satisfaction of knowing that their colleague that did this to them is now somebody’s b!tch being cornholed every night.

Brave men!

I found some more information on this incident. A lot of you may have read or heard this before but for those that haven't.......

What an awesome guy! Here's Jim Tucker's bio and a good interview about the flight.

Here's a link to the ATC tapes - scroll down to find Federal Express 705.
