Where is UPS's response?

Does any one else find it interesting that UPS has not commented on what happened Tuesday in Washington DC? Nothing on upsers or the drive by media. (At least nothing I have seen.)

Maybe they do need to settle this thing fast. Then again maybe not!

Fly good! :D

UPS Response

UPS should not have to respond. This is an internal union problem. Negotiations are just business. UPS is acting entirely properly.

he is probably right. Why should the company respomd when they can sit back and watch their adversary just self destruct?

Geoffrey is actually Kevin Nance.

GEOFFREY 05-13-2006 03:56 AM

who is Kevin Nance?

No response? Hell, I could hear them laughing in Atlanta all the way down here. Thirty or Forty months of jibberish brings us this?
Looks like the EB finally got together, but what took so long? They had their marching orders a long time ago.
Let's get a reasonable proposal out and put the ball in the company's court.

If you weren't at the meeting...

I agree with you Geoffrey.

At first I thought the company would jam this in our eye like a sharp stick. But...

I went to the afternoon meeting with over 500 other pilots, and I LISTENED to all of the EB and Art Luby speak, and I heard that Linda (NMB Senior mediator) could smell the split in the EB. This isn't uncommon in a democratic union structure, and not uncommon during the high pressure end game of negotiations.

According to Art Luby (our scope lawyer), the door remains open IF the EB reaches a true consensus. I'm sure Linda told UPS to stay mum for the duration of this internal issue.

Now, I AM sure that UPS is laughing it up a bit for now...:)

UPS Response

Believe it or not, there was very little internal laughing about the IPA E/B & N/C problems. There was more concern that the split would result in actions by a few "hotheads" which would make the negotiations more contentious.

The company has always made it a policy to stay out of internal union business.
