Getting ready for the OT ban on June 1st. Look for the next bid pkg to have twice as many reserve lines.

My guess is that the minute UPS furloughs the first IPA member without furloughing a manager, the resulting ****storm will take the company by surprise.

When the first IPA member hits the streets..managers flying "our work" should be considered SCAB.

There's no other way to look at this.

An interesting point. I've actually run the spectrum on theorizing whether they will or not. I originally thought they might just fire a few of the management 'trouble-makers' outright. But now, I wonder... dumping any of those guys really doesn't strengthen the company's case for them not to join the Union. With frozen pay/401k contributions, I'm sure some of them must be rethinking that already.

No matter how you slice it, with even one IPA member furloughed without a cooresponding (sp?) ACP furlough, there will be hell to pay. The IPA/ACP issue has seen a rather peaceful co-existence thus far however the above scenario would change things drastically. The company will attempt to justify their actions by pointing out the fact that ACP's took pay cuts by stopping their 401K match and pay freezes. To that I would offer that during good times, the ACP's enjoyed profit sharing while our pay didn't change.
In any case, the companies attempts to justify not laying off ACP's will only serve to wake a sleeping giant in my opinion.

That's correct! After LK made his ANC appearance pitching line value reductions, those guys started IOE, and consolidation...great timing. Flew a trips with a boat load of mgrs (5) and they are planning to fly more and need to be off of high mins.

I think this overstates our power (IPA) and ability to influence while underestimating that of the company. While the company could not effectively deal with and OT/JA ban today, once the fleets are built up to the planned level post displacement, they will. (VTO LINES)
Having said this, the company's problem, regarding furlough, will remain the MD11 and -400 ANC. Even after the training is complete from 09-101 and 09-201, furlough of the bottom 300 would take the 400 to 55 FOs (41 prior to 201 and 55 after). But, if only 150 were furloughed, 115 FOs would remain on the -400 (number post 09-201).

What ot/ja you all are talking about there are no open time for the next 2 pay period to be picked up or jaed for so we better have a another plan up our sleeves. There are no o/t at any domicile or fleet for 0904 and 0905 unless the company is hiding or contracting flights away i say we're either utilized to the max or we lost about 30% of our flights.

Brownie, you really need to fix the way you write. Barely figured out what you wanted to say. There is little open time available. It pops up day to day and sometimes there is more or less. Right now, there is little because they took it all out for VTO's. The day prior to line improvement, you will again notice a significant amount. Then senior guys will go in and dump their crap to pick up something better because (for example) it starts one day earlier, etc. I know you are aware of this and how it all works.
