A300 Acronyms Gouge?

Anyone have that cheat sheet with all the acronyms on it for the Bus? I think it was about 2 pages long. I guess I shouldn't have burned all that stuff.

The only one I remember was "A - S - S". I think it had something to do with Slats and Spoilers, and not the usual things I think about when that word comes to mind.

Thanks dudes.

I think it went something like, "...La,la,la..., this is the way we fly our plane, fly our plane, fly our plane... la,la,la..."

Training by wrote memorization, Brilliant!!

Hah! So true!

But I remember the beatings you received because you didn't know them.

And aren't you the one who came up with BEFAST?

That should all be a thing of the past, the training dept moved away from the rote systems memorization years ago.

As I understand it you are right, however, the training dept isn't the most standard thing here. The instructors, standards, students, ect... aren't always on the same pages. A small example, the last few classes through MD school weren't issued the small CFM to use for study, and airplane ops and such. More great decisions made by the 'smart' people.

From what I heard there is a new version coming, so rev. 49 was not reprinted when they ran out. Not sure when, but "it's in the works"

Don't flame me... just providing what info I heard...

We went away from the 'tell me the five things this switch does' training mentality a couple of years ago. I would be very suprised if you see questions like that, especially on the Bus.

Yeah, they told me that on the first day of training as well.

My oral a few months ago was given by a pro hired within the last two years and he asked me all of them.

I wasn't very surprised.

I'm sure you're done already, so I would encourage you to drop an email to SS the manager and let him know this. The standardization of the pros was always pretty loose and this runs contrary to the 'Level 1' user knowledge they're targeting. Wouldn't hurt you, but would help the program...
