Is that a done deal? Word at World is that Sonair wants an Angolan pilot in the cockpit. Obviously, a no go for World.

By the way, glad to hear there are some recalls out there.

These are all rumors. The contract has not been officially awarded yet and there are many other factors that none of us pilots know about that will help in the contact award.

Now that is a new one; They do want African FAs, but African pilots? They own the AC and want African FAs, so if they wanted African pilots also, why would anyone be in the running for the contract; They would just have there OWN airline, not just the name.

STAY TUNED!!

Feds won't let any "Angolan" operators in the US.

Does Evergreen carry people as well? I'm pretty sure those MD-11's with the Sonair logo on them that go out of IAH are carrying people as well as cargo.

You are correct. WOA is carrying both, the zone as of now only carries cargo.

This thread is about Evergreen. Not you. It's good to hear some positive news is happening out there for a change.

The problem is that they want to operate Sonair's 744's with a Sonair (Angolan) Pilot in the cockpit. This is a no go for WOA. Maybe Evergreen will accept this, maybe not. Sonair is talking to WOA this week. At any rate, it will take time for this contract to get turned over to the new operator and to get the 744's online. So for now and till probably the end of the year WOA will continue to operate (assuming WOA no longer has the contract), then Atlas or Evergreen will take over.

So I don't think this recall at Evergreen is because of the Sonair Contract. Just my two cents.

Glad to hear about the recall. Keep it coming!
