Latest on ups furough threat

That's news to me. Please explain. Frontseat may be furloughed, why shouldn't he be making and saving as much as possible? That's what I am doing. I don't anticipate being able to make anything extra if/when a furlough is announced so I am doing it now.

Yeah, so for the first time in history, UPS is interested in what the IPA wants. HA. What a laugh.
The junior guys are about to take it up the rear here. Mark my words!
Oh yeah, I forgot, it's UPS fault that the senior citizens are being trained.
If the old guys were smart they would retire now with their pensions. Otherwise, the younger guys are going to be so bitter and vote them away in 2012. Too bad the old guys aren't smart though. They are just greedy and prolly in it for the Asian rub and tugs. JMO

You are pretty humourous to bring up the retirement threat. You clearly misunderstand ferderal law. Additionally, any change would not affect the ones you are so ga-ga over <g>. It would affect the 300 though , much to their detriment <NG>
We are all greedy by someones defintion.
Enjoy your flamebaiting. <g> Just try to think up better stuff.

I can see your point on saving as much as possible but I just wouldn't feel right about doing it (picking up OT) right now. That's just me.

Seriously man, come on! You must be one of those guys who has to be explicitly told what to do. I mean, do you only use the restroom when you're told you are allowed to?
I'm all for picking up OT and JA's.... when there's not a potential furlough announced by the company. Have a little respect for your fellow crewmembers!

It is really just simply math...1 pilot doing 1.5 pilots job = we need less pilots. I don't give a rats rear-end whether the ban is here, just the fact that they came out and announced there's too many pilots is enough to cut back to prove them wrong. Is that so hard to understand?
I don't buy the argument that us not picking up OT/JA justifies the company's needs of non-union pilots.
Before Mr. Salty comes on and say I am contradicting myself since I said I will be taking a leave of absence, so why should I care? Well, I am fortunate enough to have found an OK job that will help me get through the next couple years, but I know others here at UPS are having a hard time coming up with anything, at least in the flying department. When 300 families' future are placed on hold until UPS makes (or announces) a decision. I feel like I am cheating my brothers/sisters (and myself) when I take any extra flying.
Vacation? Training? You bet I will try to drop all that stuff back to them.
That's it..I'm done.

I grew hair on my tounge asking and begging our head negotiator to put that language in the contract but oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh no he knew best and just the schedualing part was going to take care of it. 2012 pro negotiators not pro 88 and geezers.
