I know that to conflict with a trip in April I would have to slide my beginning of May vacation during the April conflict window, but can I slide my May vacation into the April bid month if it does not conflict with a trip in April?

Since we're already well into the April bid month, I don't think you can slide. You would have had to do it during the April Bid processing period. Why would you want to slide it into April with no conflict anyway?

I've already used all of my vacation and don't want to go in the hole with a conflict with any trips in May

If its your last VAC period of the year, you can reduce the "footprint" down to the amount of VAC you have left, ie, 12hrs left, 2 day footprint of VAC days, vice 7 (or however many).:cool:

7.G.4. If the SCH value of a pilot's last vacation period in a year exceeds the balance in his vacation credit hour bank, he may elect to reduce the number of vacation days in his vacation period in order to avoid or reduce a deficit in his vacation bank. A pilot shall communicate this election to CRS during the Conflict Input Window.
