Default UPS JS and the bottom 300

Is it just me? I expected to see the bottom 300 post on the IPA JS site requesting JS for an unlimited time. I see some saying that they can only afford it for a bid period or two. I wonder what they will say if they end up furloughing?

It's still really early. I'm sure most guys are still digesting the information and talking about it with their families. The sign up sheet just came out today. Job sharing is just one of a few options. Be patient.

Well....if one can not afford a 50 percent pay-cut indefinitely then they won't sign up.

If one is furloughed, there are other jobs (any profession). Why stay with a job that doesn't pay? (half)

They will end up Furloughing just to bring back the same guys six months to a year later and start hiring again in two! We are spinning are wheels here! If you haven't planned for it thus far, then I don't know what to tell you!

If they want to furlough let them furlough - most of the bottom 300 have had it pretty good over the past couple of years so if they don't want to drop some time to save a job than I guess its not worth me putting a strain on my lifestyle so they can keep picking up all those ANC JAs. - Flame on

Most bottom 300 guys are trying to recover from... not only first year pay at UPS, but being furloughed from previous carriers just before coming to UPS. But, half pay is better that no pay!

Some of us are trying for the mil leave angle. I live in the DC area(long before UPS), I can't afford a 3 year paycut at 50% pay. I'd rather take my chances elsewhere till recall to find a job that pays >60K per yr. The more I think about it, the more uncomfortable I am with a new precedent between us and the company we may be setting...

I don't know why someone would expect every guy in the lower 300 to JS....I mean, this was set up for EVERYONE to try to prevent a furlough. If the bottom 300 guys don't want to/can't JS, then they can't. I wouldn't rip on them for it.
