FDX - Seniority updated

Retirements still slow; moved up 48 numbers.

Los1 07-01-2009 06:30 AM

54 for me....

Busdrivr 07-01-2009 08:22 AM

Stop complaining, I only moved up 17.

Commando 07-01-2009 08:49 AM

Dont complain. The same guy who got hired when I did here at UPS is light years ahead. Almost 20% ahead in Seniority. We move up around 20 to 30 a year! I will soon be a FO here instead of the Wasting three to four days a month commuting to Alaska. While a Wide body Captain there. 1994 Hire.

Sadly, much of the movement is because of deaths, not retirements.

The way they are working us now, I expect those numbers to increase in the years to come.

You mean 24 or more active pilots died this year? Didn't hear about most of those. Are you sure?

More likely they were fired or lost their medical.

MD11Fr8Dog 07-01-2009 11:17 AM

I moved up 49!

I think there were a least six, which is way too many. Sorry if I used the wrong adjective.

Gunter 07-01-2009 01:06 PM

No disrespect intended. I don't wish that on anyone.

May God rest their souls.

30 From Bottom 07-01-2009 02:11 PM

Moved up 158, but, we lost a lot of great guys this year!!!

OffRoad5150 07-01-2009 02:11 PM

Crew bus rumor: Scott G., a non-member moron, approached ALPA for legal representation, probably not a surprise though.

Can't wait for him and B. Lavender to be permanently removed from the seniority list.

FedEx1 07-01-2009 04:30 PM

It is the right thing to do, not for HIM, but for all of us. We don't want the outcome of his case to set a precedence for the rest of us. ALPA will give him good representation.

Besides, I think there is something in the CBA about this? About representing non-members?

I think it is a federal law. Unions that represent craft and class must represent all members whether they belong to the union or not.

Nice if they have to cough up some dues money, no?

hamfisted 07-01-2009 07:01 PM

I want Johnny Cochran to represent them. Not his firm....but Johnny himself.

Uhhhh...that might be a little difficult to do!

ALPA should use Jackie Chiles http://www.seinfeldonline.com/jackie.jpg

The last non-member that we had to represent had to either join and pay all his back dues or pay the lawyer bill. We have represent them, we don't have to pay for it.

FedEx1 07-02-2009 08:26 AM

That might be why he was wavering on whether or not he wanted ALPA aboard. Probably weighing the costs...

Sounds reasonable. Chalk one up for ALPA.
