Just a guess, but do to the over-manning situation and lack of retirements, I'd say 3 to 4 years.

Anyone else hearing this deal about just shy of 200 guys getting ready to drop their retirement papers prior to the end of the year? I just heard someone yapping about 400 total next year. This seems to be getting some persistent play from the various horses' mouths down in Mempho. What would that do to our famous overmanning? It'll probably make it even more difficult to drop trips. New VIPS Notification: Your request to drop/slide/mil-leave (take your pick) has been denied due to an EXTREME lack of crews! P.S.--No hiring for you!

More--the 757/777 will be held the week after Christmas and not in the Spring like we have been told. Paris could still happen although there are fact finding missions going on in the previously mentioned Euro cities. You heard it here first.

Of course I don't believe any of it since someone's lips are moving and my crystal ball seems to have been broken around, oh I don't know, right about the time 09-03 came out. I was so convinced I was right...

I'm assuming you are referring to another 757/777 "vacancy bid"

....and looking at the changes in the most recent training letter, I believe this "rumor" may be a correct one.

Let's hope so, anyway!

(p.s. Re: future hiring...my current guess is the earliest will be mid/late 2012, depending on retirements, upcoming contract negotiations and the on-going status of 4A2B)
