DHL audit of ABX
DHL north america with in ILN all last week auditing the books of ABX. One of the results of the audit is that even with the just announced furlough of more pilots, DHL says that ABX if overstaffed with pilots and must reduce their number to control costs. ABX operates on a cost plus contract with DHL and DHL says that ABX's costs are too high and must lower them. Look for more furloughs in the near future as the remaining DC-8s are retired.

But your total pilot numbers are dropping. Those are just to make room for the DC-8 refugees. Ask the Bob's (M and B) about the DHL audit. They will tell you that DHL told them that they are still overstaffed with pilots.

retiring pilots!
Hey Browntail, have you figured into the equation the #'s of pilots/FE's that may retire at ABX? Does anyone here know of the retirements looming at ABX of pilots only?

I just read that off the ABXair message board. Why don't you at least cite the source brown stain. How many animals did you torture as a young boy anyway? You must have the worst self-esteem problem. I feel sorry for your boyfriend (small peeper). |
15 more retirements this year, 30+ next year. 4 more 767's on line this year, 5 next year, classes expected every month through '06. The PFE's are gone, for the most part, that can't be helped. Tons of rumors about the future, all good. 10-12 more 76's on the way...
|
If they are telling ABX that they are overstaffed, I can't wait to her what they are saying about Astar! No flying lines on the A-300???? And they continue to hire? Stick to that no furlough, surplus clause boys!

Respect and Dignity
To all:
Thank you to all who post on here with common descency and benign intent! It really helps us all collectively to learn and be informed of what people go through in this vast yet shrinking industry. I feel fortunate to be able to learn about other companies through the voices of their 'front line" people, so when I get ready to make a jump, at least I have some "points" that I would want to check out before I go anywhere, given the diverse sentiments on here. I know there are all sorts of viewpoints from good to bad to bitter and that is fine, as we all have traveled different paths to get to where we are and ultimately are entitled to our opinions and feelings. Now, when you have someone like Browntail, who seems to take pleasure in other people's misery, or if not, then has the diplomacy of a turd in a punch bowl, I take exception. Whether or not he truly is a UPS pilot, well I dont really care. I am with you all when you express outrage at this less than human behaviour. When I run across "people" like him I wonder about their quality of life. it's obvious that if he indeed is a UPS pilot, then the vast amounts of money he may make isnt enough for him. Perhaps this person isnt married and therefore is truly alone or if he is married then we can wonder about the state of his marriage where he feels that he needs to supplement his lack of happiness with his money, job, and marriage with putting down others and their possible misery thereby making himself feel better! When I think about this, it allows me room for pity on this "person".......pity because while very annoying on here for us, I'm sure the vast majority of us have lives,(fulfilling ones outside our jobs at the least) where we just chalk his crap as walking into a fart on the sidewalk. Seems like this individual derives pleasure from his posts,.....so ill let him do so, because i think it's indicative of bigger problems on his part......so while time passes by and his retirement comes along i just wonder how much unhappier his life will be when he no longer "belongs" to something. having said that I suspect that his fellow crews share our same feelings on here about this individual. so while this may seem like a bit of a rant, I thought i would just share that while we are offended and annoyed by his posts, I suspect that we each are strong enough to weather our job woes from time to time while we really take stock of what is really important....which is our families and loved ones etc etc etc........because with the exception of browntail, we lead lives with enough quality and happiness that we dont REQUIRE supplemental happiness in cyberspace from thumbing our noses down at people and their situations. Browntail may think I am full of it, but when the majority on here have been vocal about someone or something, and that person cant see it, doesnt care or whatever, then it just makes our case. oh yeah, since this is an ABX post, I wonder if down the road this will turn out to be another Delta, American, or Continental VS. Pan American and Eastern Airlines. While the Pan Am pilots were envied back in the 50's and 60's and everyone else were just peons......I wonder how the next 30ish years will play out with regards to Fedex and UPS. because history has told all of us over and over again....you just never know! Wouldnt that get under Brownies skin!?!?!? |

Since 9-11, both have record profits and are growing with the global economy. |
A-300?

Number of flying lines 14 Ratio CH/BH 1.38 CHs Lowest 64.00 Highest 71.36 Average 66.21 BHs 34.56 57.70 48.06 Why we're hiring is between DHL and Astar. You would think that if furloughs were an issue we wouldn't be hiring. Further, Astar COULD furlough if they wanted. No furlough only applies under certain circumstances. It is not a blanket no furlough clause. |
great new user name for browntail

I think he's probably a pilot. Why else would anyone post on here if they weren't?

Hotoftapress:
six -9 FO slots for beginning of JUL. Should take care of anyone who cared about flying here in the first place (wait, forgot about the furloughs). We'll get them next time. |
What's the latest about ABX buying Pace airlines?
|
cynical,
Brownturd posts here because the fourms are open to anybody to join. He's contradicted himself enough times on other threads that people have pretty much figured him out. I'm guessing that either his dad is a high up management type and he's getting fed the corporate koolaide or he's an intern that's being fed the previously mentioned soft drink. Personally, I think if we ignore him he'll get bored and go away. |
:p Brownstain has his head so far up his posterior he has the aforementioned stain on his shoulder blades. If he really is a pilot he could get his own circus side show when he gets furloughed.:p

Believe me, I'm on your side. I honestly don't know how much open flying exists in any airplane/seat. I only care about the guys who offer a hometown trip trade with reserves without fully disclosing the "whole story". Good luck tonight at 17:00. I hope you're not paired with anyone other than a former S/O. |

Trading an open time trip to a reserve and not telling him that it's an open time trip is totally unethical and should be reported to professional standards. Oh wait, the pro standards committee members at ABX probably do the same thing! |

Hey ABXpert, why are you trying to convince us you used to work here? I believe you. I even have a good idea who you are. At least I'm willing to "out" myself on APC. Everyone at ABX knows who I am. They can believe almost everything I say. When are you coming back to the other forum? EMB Skillz and D'angelo miss you. |
