Anyone ever meet Fred in person? I have only seen him on TV and he seems like a cold unfriendly guy.

Did he whine and cry like a little baby?

yes i have....1997 sitting at a restaurant in MEM and he came over and sat with me...my wife(girlfriend then) worked there and waited on him from time to time....sat down and talked about all kinds of stuff...air to air refueling and rocket assisted dc-10s...crazy ideas he had...real nice guy and very friendly...anyway that's my 2 cents about meeting him

It's around the 5:30 point that he discusses "cost reductions" vs layoffs...and even mentions pilot pay/hours closer to the end.

Yes, good guy, old days he'd show up and talk about flying, was even around F-street buying rounds a few times. Never talked down to anyone, always seemed to listen to what you have to say, even if he didn't agree with it.
