FDX - Due to holiday volume..........

"Due to holiday volume the MEM 11 Captain secondary lines will not be
complete until after 1200cdt Thursday October 29."

Hmm, are futures folks working in the sort facility now? Or are they adding extra trips for extra volume anticipated next month? Either way, sounds like poor manpower planning!

Discuss! :D

The strange thing is that there are CH values for all the CA Secondary lines, (except a few), but no trips or R Days assigned. So it appears they have built them, they just don't want to display them.

Maybe they've just worn out the, "Due to a computer programming (contractor issue) glitch" ... excuse and needed a new one?

Lot's of open time sitting in the CA seat. It looks like they may be "re-optimizing" their little PBS machine, ops I mean secondary line machine to pack some more flying on those lines...beware of the involuntary conversion is all I am saying.;)

They're probably going to drop trips back into open time and add on more R days because they blew their planning.

As long as we are guessing

Too many guys had Thanksgiving off and they are trying to find out how they screwed the pooch.

Maybe they couldn't work with holiday being turned up that loud.

The bottom VTO lines HAVE been released and contain all R-days. I doubt they'd build VTO lines with R-Days and then turn around and involuntarily convert R-lines to VTO.

Just looked at Open Time and I think you are right, what looks to be the "problem" is as someone else posted that there is a peak of trips around the holiday. Not sure how that affects the release of the other VTO's? Hold tight, Thanksgiving Dinner tastes much better at home.

Sure they would. If they wanted you on different R days they'd just convert you and then give you the R days THEY want you to have, rather than the ones you bid. Our contract really doesn't have any significant parameters to protect anyone in the bottom 20% of any seat. Secondary building, soft R-days, inability to see open time and trip assignments, inability to see manning in other reserve periods. The company just does whatever the hell they want with and to the bottom 20% or so in every seat.
