Called for draft?...post it here.

All,

Might be interesting to see what the company is drafting for. Of course the trips will be flown, but at least those listed here took a pass....

FedExBusBoy 10-31-2009 08:15 AM

HazCan 10-31-2009 09:45 AM

I think it's a great idea, but we also need to forward to the union. Perhaps the SIG?

trigg41 10-31-2009 11:15 AM

Just got a draft call ANC FO 1115 local SAT. I didnt get the details however before I said NO.

fedupbusdriver 10-31-2009 11:36 AM

Not sure what the SIG can do with the info, but the grievance guys might could use it against 4a2b.

If you get called for draft, it would be helpful to get the pairing number to forward to them.

You're right, the enforcement/grievance guys would probably do better with it. As long as someone gets it.

Been there, done that

Alpa can't take action on this. This is going to have to be a grass roots effort. Gains won't be immediate and may not be obvious. This is an unprecedented time of immediate information sharing. That makes us strong.

Be confident that all is noticed by those who count. You are either for us or again' us.

Be confident that all that is posted on this board is noticed in court...

It could be a slight help in the 4a2b grievance at least from the standpoint that the company would have to explain how they are overmanned, yet forced to draft in order to fill the required flying.

MTY draft call Oct 31 Bus F/O - NOGO... Halloween Beer in system

Company won't have to explain anything! All of this is "after the fact" in regards to the grievance. Both sides have presented all they can to the arbitrator and it is now in his/her hands. Can't see how any of this is going to help now.

Maybe we should have waited/delayed presenting our side of the grievance until now!

Passed on a $16,000 draft trip last night. :p

Wife was not happy..."We could use that money!!"

I told her if she was worried about money..."GO GET A JOB!!!"

Funny, how that was the end of the conversation.

P.S. Of, course the trip was picked up by a non-member. 5192/01 A300CAP

Question from the unwashed masses

Is there a mechanisum in your CBA that requires the company to notify the union each time they DRAFT or involuntary assign someone to a trip?

If not, why not?

Information is power...

Good luck in your quest to exit 4a2b

md11phlyer 11-01-2009 10:07 AM

Got called for 2 separate trips yesterday. ANC -11 FO. Not sure of the details.

I flew with that captain a few years ago. He took out a photo of his Lamborghini and put it up in his chart clip as if it was his kid. What a joke. At least he can make those car payments with this trip...

Exactly. Fedex is always two steps ahead of us. I am tired of it. I think at alpa we get the night college grads.

Gotta pay for the Ferrari.

MEMA300 11-01-2009 01:36 PM

At least half of the FOs I flew with this month were on draft.

FrankTheTank 11-01-2009 03:04 PM

Same thing a couple of years ago.. Kept telling me to call him when I needed creative financing... Well... Thanks to 4a2b, I have been living on creative financing!

He used the Lambo clip for the FPR and such... Just for accuracy.

2, got a '77 FJ55 a few weeks back!

Dadof6 11-05-2009 09:49 PM

Draft call again this afternoon for an ASTBY. Wouldn't be too bad, but you gotta remember that keeps you on the hook for 48 hours, potentially. Got plans for the weekend.

viperdriver 11-06-2009 04:27 AM

I think you are on the hook until your next activity.

onetime 11-06-2009 04:56 AM

Is there anything wrong with asking for the pairing #/date when you are called for draft, then after saying no, posting that pairing # and date here?

I always ask for it so that I can look at it on the computer before I say no (or more accurately, tell them I'll only do it if they drop other trips later in the month ... they always say no thanks and that's just fine with me).

I tell them I have to check with Mama, then I put them on hold (whilst checking with said Mama). For some reason, she always says "NO YOU DUMB ***." This usually eats up at least 2 or 3 minutes.:D
