Mea Culpa
OK, my fault.
I thought (from the original post) that the airplane was already on the ground, and was supposedly turning-off via the high-speed.
I think what fooled me (or most of us) is it seemed the aircraft is far-off centerline; but now I'm not so sure. Made it seem like a guy was already in the process of turning-off, so I kind of assumed speed about 50-80 kts.
What is really surprising is the lack of control response...there are no discernable control surface deflections until all three struts are on the ground.
I think the most surprising shot is the "lean" onto the left strut a frame later; very nose down, and one helluva side-load on the gear...to me, it is more surpising they didn't snap a main at that point, than the almost-scraped-a-wing shot.

They were too busy crapping their pants to apply any control inputs.
VERY nice photo sequence, Paulo.
I hope you never catch me doing that in the tanker, cause one (or both) of my outboards are gonna depart the jet.
I hate Lajes.

Happened to us recently as well. I was the FO, Captain was flying. Popped out at 2700 ft on the ILS. I could not find the runway. IRO found it out my side window.
Landed a full 747/4 at night with the worst winds I have ever seen. Captain pulled off the landing of his career. I have never been so impressed with someones skill, and never been so happy I wasn't flying!
