Lots of reasons: FedEx is shorting the reserve system at the expense of our pay, and the most (actually only) thing that will draw attention to the higher level is parked jets and lost revenue. It is unfortunate but true. If CRS is drafting that means NO one is otherwise available, reserve, make up list etc. A trip not filled results in system form change that gets notice.

It is a personal choice. Fedex has decided they are overmanned. During the overmanning period Fedex has decided they do not need to man reserves and arpt stby at historical levels. They are betting there will be enough greedy ba$tards to allow them to get away with this manning decision. They are probably right, but I will not help them.

The only thing that gets their attention is when the freight stops moving. The more that happens, the quicker we get out of 4.a.2.b. I'm with LAG.

The freight always moves... They just revise a two leg trip for someone into a three.

True, but not necessarily on-time or within the money back guarantee...otherwise known as a service failure.

Really????

Please explain how they do that, from domicile(or anywhere, for that matter), with just a trip revision without messing up the system!! What? They just add a leg, and magically everythng gets there on time???

I can't believe this group...What a bunch of friggin' morons!!!

I hate us!!!

One reason would be "unity" (I hate that word cause it has been bastardized!) and power in numbers. The simple fact is if everyone enjoyed their free time doing things other than flying extra, after a couple of months with Cx flights and service failures, we would probably be out of 4a2b. So, financially, 1 year with reduced hours or a couple of months enjoying a few extra days off a month; which would be the better choice for the checkbook?

Most of our guys do a good job, but it only takes a minority to prolong the pain! But, we all know that, right?

I thought the same thing as most of the previous posts. Simply fly your line and no more, help expedite the exit from 4a2b.

However, as of Dec 13th no exit and still getting our crappy 4a2b pay for the month and looks like we have it going into January. So, if the Company can handle the reduced BLG on our busiest month of the year...things aren't looking good!

After having spoken to more than a few facing financial problems seems that we are better off not flying any extra at straight pay. Wait for the VLT/DRF call and at least make a dent in your 15 to 20 hour monthly short-fall.

If it's not getting picked up at straight time then they will be forced to fly it at 150%. Seems a little more realistic when compared to the don't fly any extra. What good is it for them to stay in 4a2b if its costing them at least that difference in VLT/DRF pay?

Just a different approach to a problem that will probably only be brought to finality by an arbitrator.

You must fly domestic. That is the proverbial lower left corner of the big picture. Trip revisions are happening on MD11 pairings in far away lands. There's a few of those every month. Some are getting extended like Obama era mortgage foreclosures.

And, yes, magically all the freight they wanted to move got moved. Without putting the hours on anyone's line.
