FDX: VTO - All Reserve?

Just wondering if you ended up with all reserve on your VTO are they still giving you one or two days less due to the reduced R-day values?

I ask because I got a VTO with all reserve but also had 2 days of training and protected min days off. I ended up with 17 days of reserve and the two days of training for 19 total. Should they have given me 15 or 16 days of reserve with the training due to the reduced line values plus my training days?

Thanks,

Thanks,

They'll remove the min days in a couple of days...

Yes, it is correctly built. Not fair but correct, (assuming you are an FO on the MD?).

If a VTO can't be built with trips or a combo of trips/r days then it is built in compliance with a reserve line. They put your bid training dates down and then fill it up with reserve days up to the max.
If a secondary line cannot reasonably be constructed entirely
of trips, it may be constructed of trips and reserve days
(R-days). If a secondary line cannot be constructed of trips
and R-days, it shall be constructed as a reserve line
. For
purposes of secondary line construction, an R-day does not
conflict with another scheduled activity if there is at least 12
hours between the reserve period (RP) and the scheduled
activity. If the parties jointly agree to a new automated
secondary line process which puts the pilot in direct contact
with automation capable of generating secondary lines,
such automation shall include the ability to assign available
R-days/blocks before trips based on a pilot’s bids.
If you happen to be in a seat with "modified reserve lines", a Company program that will remove 1 R day if the AVG BLG, not RLG is below a certain value. That value is approx 59 CH or 79 CH for a 5 week I think.

62 CH (4-week month)

79 CH (5-week month)

Thanks guys,

My VTO Guarantee was 77 hours and some change which is less than 79, but who knows the actual rules these days...

The Company rule is based on "AVG BLG", the number published generally on page 2 of the bid pack. It is the number RLG is based on, not your actual line value.

If you're talking about MEM MD11 FO for Dec '09, I don't think the company removed any R-days due to avg. BLG was 82:09 (5 -week month) which is greater than 79, so no days should have been removed.

19 R-days to start - minus 2 R-days for 2 training days = 17 R-days

sounds correct to me.

Sounds like BS to me. Even if it is what the FCIF says....
